Rex Robert Brown (born July 27, 1966 in Graham, Texas) was the bassist for Pantera from their formation in 1981 to their breakup in 2003. Rex was also a member of Phil Anselmo's side project Down from 1999-2011 and performed in the country/blues/southern rock/heavy metal group Rebel Meets Rebel. Rex has also have numerous health issues. In 2009, Brown was diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis, most likely caused by years of heavy drinking. Currently, he is in a band with former Black Sabbath and Dio drummer Vinny Appice called Kill Devil Hill.
Trivia
- He is the only original member of Pantera left in the band, as Phil was their second vocalist.
